I'm tasked with rescuing a Multisite installation that's a bit stuffed with a large amount of Spam Blogs. It's stuffing up the database a bit which is causing failures due to the size of the Database.
I'm marking installations as being "Deleted" in the Sites > All Sites > Edited Site page, but I'm curious to know as to what happens then. What gets deleted from the site? Do the database tables get deleted, and how is this handled? Is it done via a garbage collection that runs every so often? The reason I ask is that in the last 24 hours since marking an installation as "Deleted" it still appears in the WordPress Administration.
IDEALLY, I'm wanting the database tables gone, so I'm curious to know how this is being done, whether WordPress doesn't delete these blog tables, or the garbage collection isn't working.
