Tanami on "One database - Import"

Hi all,

a couple of years ago I was running a PhpBB3 forum, on MySQL database. Years later a mate of mine installed Wordpress for me, and used the same MySQL database...

Now I want to terminate this PhPBB forum, import all the posts into WP and get rid of the forum.

Question: I tried using a simple import tool (bbPress) but it failed to import. I guess it's because I need to "split" the database ?

If I don't need to split, then how can I import the forum's post into WP posts, and replies as comments while keeping the date/time tags and users ?
