saturnus on "Remove mass post content"

i need a sentence in a large number of posts removed. i have tried the search and replace plugin, and this mySQL command: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/how-to-search-and-replace-wordpress-in-blog-post/ neither have worked. i get "0 entries" returned in the plugin / "0 rows" affected in mySQL.
