John Morris on "[Plugin: Ad Blocking Detector] Plug-in causing high MySQL queries?"

Hello GRAVELBIKEcom,

I'm sorry you're encountering problems with Ad Blocking Detector.

One feature of this plugin is an activity, performance, and error log which is viewable on the "Report a Problem / Debug" tab. Due to a few recent bug reports, I have temporarily increased the volume of log entries to help track down the problem. Each log entry has the potential to generate a database query. When, and how often the logging results in queries is up to WordPress.

You are the first to report any issues with excessive database queries.

However, the logging behavior is customizable. In version 3.2.0 of the plugin, "Performing Statistics Logging" can be disabled in the Advanced Settings tab, or they can be filtered by execution time and memory usage cutoffs. Adjusting these settings will drastically reduce the number of log entries.

In the soon to be released version 3.2.1, all log entries can be enabled or disabled, or the log can be disabled altogether.

I have changed the default behavior, in version 3.2.1, to filter Performance Statistics Logging, which will reduce log entries. If the plugin was functioning, other than the database query problem, then you can take this farther and disable some or all logging as desired.

About a week ago, I released a massive update for this plugin that made several radical changes. The wp_abd_shortcodes table is currently kept so users can return to previous versions of this plugin without losing their old shortcodes, in case the new update caused problems.

Once the growing pains pass, I will re-include deletion of that table in the uninstall process.
